Over the past few years, Welshy Contracting has been proud to work alongside Environment Canterbury (ECan) and the Ashburton District Council to maintain and improve local drainage networks across our region.

With our 14-tonne wheeled digger, we’re able to clear drains efficiently while keeping disruption to your property to a minimum. Using our specialised rake attachment, we remove silt and vegetation carefully to preserve the shape and structure of the drain and protect surrounding waterways.

When conditions are dry, we can also use our mulcher to tidy and maintain drains — preventing blockages and ensuring smooth water flow once the rains return.

Our Equipment & Capabilities

• 14-Ton Wheeled Digger
  Perfect for getting into areas where tracks would make a mess, allowing efficient and clean operation
   
• Specialised Rake
  Designed and constructed by our own engineer to ensure minimal disturbance to drains and the surrounding environment
   
• Dump Trailers
  We have two dump trailers available to cart away spoil — either relocated elsewhere on your property or transported back to our yard
   
• Experienced Operators
  Our team has been maintaining drains for many years. They bring strong local knowledge and are always happy to explain our process to ensure you’re confident in the work being done
   
• Dry Hire Options
  We offer dry hire for our equipment. If you’d like to handle the cartage yourself, we can provide a tractor and trailer setup to help manage materials efficiently
